Disclosure of your information
We disclose your information in the following manner:
What you share with others on another Platform
When you use our Platform to share content, you choose the viewers for what you share. We do not control and shall not be liable for the manner in which such persons (with whom you choose to share content via WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.) use the information you share with them.
Content visible to others on Savidhi
Public content — anything you post on your profile or on a community page — is accessible to everyone, including search engines. When you submit, post or share content in a public community on the Platform, it may be viewed and re-shared by others. People who can see your activity can choose to share it with others on and off our Platform, including people outside the audience you shared it with.
Sharing with our group of companies
We may share your Personal Information with any member of our Group — any entity that controls us, that we control, or that is under common control with us, whether directly or indirectly.
Sharing with third parties
We may share your information (including Personal Information) with select third parties:
- Business partners, suppliers and subcontractors (“Affiliates”) — they may use this information to help provide, understand and improve the Service and their own services for the performance of any contract we enter with you.
- Government bodies or law enforcement agencies, where we have a good-faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a legal obligation or government request; or to protect our rights or prevent harm to property or safety; or to detect, prevent or otherwise address public safety, fraud, security or technical issues.
We may also disclose your information in the following circumstances:
- If the Company or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party — personal data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganisation or sale of assets, we will notify you in advance so you can opt out by deleting your account before transfer.
- In order to enforce or apply our Terms and/or any other agreements.
Security practices
To protect the information we collect we have implemented appropriate technical and security measures. You are responsible for keeping your username and password private if we have given you (or you have chosen) one to access the Platform.
Where we store your personal information
We store your data on Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform on servers located in India and abroad. Both providers implement security measures to protect against loss, misuse and alteration of information.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated by the Company. We will post the updated policy at this page whenever we make changes you should be aware of. It is your responsibility to check this page on a regular basis to be aware of any changes.
Disclaimer
Information transmission over the internet is not completely secure. Although we make every effort to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee the security of any data you transmit; any transmission is at your own risk. We use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access once we have received your information.
Your rights
You have the option to remove or delete content from your user account at any time. By logging in and visiting your profile page, you can correct, amend, add, or delete Personal Information. You may opt out of unwanted email communications by following the instructions in the message. However, until your account is deleted, you will continue to receive system emails.
Under Section 5(6) of the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“Rules”), you have a right to ask us to review, correct and amend the information we collect about you at any point in time.
Under Section 5(7) of the Rules, you also have the right to revoke your consent to the collection of your information going forward. Revoking your consent may negatively affect your use of the Platform.
You can exercise any of these rights by contacting us at support@savidhi.com. We require a reasonable period of 30 (thirty) days to comply with any of your requests.
Retention of data
We do not hold your Sensitive Personal Information for any longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it may be lawfully used. We will consider your request to delete any other content; however, copies of any public content may be retained indefinitely in our systems, including in cached and archived pages, or if other users have copied or saved that information.
Links from third parties
The Platform may contain links to and from the websites of our partner networks, advertisers, Affiliates and/or any other websites or mobile applications. These websites have their own privacy policies; we do not accept responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check them before submitting any personal data.
Third-party embedding
Some content displayed on the Platform is not hosted by the Platform. These “embeds” are hosted by third parties and embedded in the Platform (e.g. YouTube videos, Giphy gifs that appear within a post). These files send data to the hosted site as if you were visiting that site directly.
The Platform does not control what data third parties collect or what they do with it. Third-party embeds are not covered by this Privacy Policy — they are covered by the privacy policy of the third-party service.
Cookies, pixels and local storage
Cookies are small files that websites place on your computer as you browse the web. We use cookies to discover how people are using our Platform and to make it work better.
A pixel is a small amount of code on a web page or in an email notification. We use pixels to learn whether you've interacted with certain web or email content, helping us measure and improve our Platform.
Local storage is an industry-standard technology that allows a website or application to store information locally on your computer or mobile device. We use local storage to customise what we show you based on your past interactions.
Why do we use these technologies?
We use these technologies to show you relevant content, improve your experience and help protect us and our users — to provide services that are easier and faster to use, retain authentication information, retain your language preference and provide mapping and location-based services. We also use them to understand how you use our Platform and to collect aggregate visitor information.
What types of cookies do we use?
- Necessary cookies — essential to make the Platform work and to enable features like log-in authentication, security and fraud prevention. These do not identify you as an individual.
- Performance cookies — let us analyse how the Platform is used so we can constantly improve it. All information is gathered and aggregated anonymously.
- Functionality cookies — remember your choices (language preference, accessibility options, log-in status) and customise the Platform for you.
Third-party cookies
We use a number of suppliers that may also set cookies on your device on our behalf when you visit our Platform, to allow such third parties to deliver the services they are providing.
How can I control cookies?
Most internet browsers are initially set up to automatically accept cookies. You can change settings to block cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent to your device. Disabling cookies may impact your experience on the Platform — for example, you may not be able to visit certain areas or receive personalised information.
Communications from us
We may send you service-related notifications from time to time if we deem it necessary (such as when we temporarily suspend the Platform for maintenance, or for security, privacy or administrative communications). You may not opt out of these service-related announcements; they are not promotional and are only used to protect your account and keep you informed of important Platform changes.
